Warehouse & Event Setup Technician
306 Party Rentals is hiring a dependable, hands-on person for a permanent, year-round position based at our Saskatoon warehouse.
This role combines warehouse work, rental-order preparation, deliveries, pickups, and event installations. The balance changes throughout the year: spring and summer involve more deliveries and event-site work, while fall and winter focus more heavily on warehouse organization, equipment cleaning, repairs, maintenance, inventory preparation, and getting ready for the next event season.
We are not looking for someone who only wants a short-term summer job. We are looking for the right person to learn the business, take ownership of their work, and potentially grow into a crew-lead or operations role.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, organize, and check rental orders before they leave the warehouse
- Load and unload tables, chairs, tents, staging, dance floors, and other event equipment
- Deliver and pick up rental equipment throughout Saskatoon and surrounding communities
- Assist with the setup and removal of tents and event equipment
- Clean, inspect, maintain, and organize rental inventory
- Report damaged, missing, or incorrectly returned equipment
- Follow order sheets, delivery instructions, checklists, and photo requirements
- Safely operate company vehicles and properly secure loads
- Communicate professionally with customers at deliveries, pickups, and event sites
- Help maintain an organized and efficient warehouse
- Learn company installation standards and eventually assist with training seasonal employees
- Complete other practical warehouse and operations duties as required
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, mechanically inclined, and able to work without constant supervision once trained.
You should be someone who:
- Arrives on time and can be counted on
- Takes care of company vehicles, tools, and rental equipment
- Notices missing items or potential problems before leaving the warehouse
- Can follow written and verbal instructions accurately
- Works well as part of a crew
- Communicates respectfully with customers and coworkers
- Is comfortable working indoors, outdoors, and at changing event locations
- Can stay calm when schedules or job-site conditions change
- Is interested in permanent employment and growing with the company
Previous event-rental experience is not required. Relevant experience may include warehouse work, furniture or appliance delivery, moving, landscaping, construction, farming, equipment rental, or other hands-on work.
Requirements
- Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 driver’s licence
- Acceptable driver’s abstract
- Ability to safely drive company vehicles
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Able to perform repeated lifting, carrying, loading, and other physical duties associated with event equipment
- Available for early mornings, occasional evenings, and weekends during the busy event season
- Reliable transportation to our Saskatoon warehouse
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
Experience towing trailers is an asset but not required.
Hours and Schedule
This is a permanent, year-round position.
Hours are generally full-time during the busy spring and summer event season. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required during peak periods.
During the slower winter season, hours may reduce to approximately 30–32 hours per week, depending on workload. Winter duties include repairs, cleaning, maintenance, inventory organization, order preparation, and seasonal planning.
Schedules can vary based on event and delivery requirements. Applicants must be comfortable with a position that is busier during event season.
Compensation
$22.00–$24.00 per hour, based on relevant experience, driving ability, equipment knowledge, and demonstrated responsibility.
There is an opportunity for wage growth as the employee becomes capable of independently preparing orders, completing deliveries, leading installations, and supervising seasonal crew members.
What We Provide
- Permanent, year-round employment
- Paid, hands-on training
- Company work shirts and required uniforms
- On-site parking
- Opportunity to develop into a crew-lead or operations position
