Dougall Media, Thunder Bay's only locally owned broadcast and multimedia company, is hiring a full-time Creative Producer to join our team. The Creative Producer is a high-impact, cross-functional role bridging the gap between client strategy, business development, and creative execution. This individual owns the complete lifecycle of our video production products serving as the primary architectural force from the initial discovery session through to final delivery.
Primary Duties:
1. Client Discovery & Strategy

Lead collaborative discovery sessions with local and regional clients to identify core business goals, target demographics, and brand guidelines.

Deconstruct client briefs into actionable creative directions that align with specific marketing and audience objectives.

Act as the primary strategic partner and liaison for the client, managing expectations and ensuring clear communication throughout the production process.
2. Concept Development & Pitching

Collaborate heavily with the creative writing and production teams to conceptualize video formats, commercial campaigns, and narrative concepts.

Ensure all scripts and creative angles precisely target the client's desired demographics.

Construct professional presentation decks that translate complex creative ideas into clear business propositions, including detailed project scopes, visual references, and next steps.

Develop accurate cost estimates, project quotes, and resource allocations for client sign-off.

Present storyboards derived from approved scripts directly to client stakeholders to secure buy-in.
3. Production Management & Execution

Oversee the end-to-end operational execution of each video production campaign.

Lead pre-production logistics, including sourcing and casting talent, securing filming locations, and arranging required props or gear.

Build, monitor, and enforce comprehensive production schedules, ensuring all internal milestones and final broadcast/digital delivery deadlines are met.

Coordinate all internal and external team communications, aligning writers, videographers, editors, and voice talent.

Required Credentials & Skills:
- Experience: 3–5 years of experience in video production, agency account management, commercial directing, or a blended creative project management role.

Strategic Mindset: Demonstrated ability to understand marketing principles, audience demographics, and media landscapes.

Client-Facing Confidence: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a proven track record pitching concepts and managing corporate accounts.

Logistical Excellence: Highly organized with experience building budgets, timelines, resource plans, and managing multi-disciplinary teams.

Creative Insight: Strong storytelling sensibilities with the ability to judge, critique, and shape scripts and visual concepts effectively.

Local knowledge of Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario is an asset

Ability to lift up to 40 pounds if needed

Valid Ontario driver's license is required
