Job Summary:
The Field Service Warehouse & Assembly Technician supports operational readiness and execution of Field Service activities by performing warehouse logistics, parts handling, and equipment assembly functions. This role ensures timely material availability, accurate inventory control, and quality assembly of components supporting repair shop and field operations. Success is measured through on-time order fulfillment, assembly quality, inventory accuracy, and support of field service project timelines. This position partners closely with Field Service, Supply Chain, and Repair Shop teams.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations & Inventory Management
- Receive, inspect, and process incoming materials, parts, and equipment
- Perform inventory transactions in Oracle EBS, including receipts, issues, and material movements
- Maintain accurate, real-time inventory using barcode scanning and system tools
- Monitor stock levels and active bins; generate replenishment requests to prevent shortages
- Conduct cycle counts, physical inventory checks, and reconciliation activities
- Receive and process return-to-stock (RTS) materials from field service operations, ensuring proper inspection, sorting, and system reintegration
Packing, Shipping & Logistics
- Execute standardized packing of serviced units and components using approved specifications\
- Ensure all outgoing materials are properly secured, labeled, and compliant with internal and customer requirements
- Maintain consistency in packaging quality to prevent damage or loss
- Coordinate shipment of parts, tools, and equipment to field sites and customers
- Stage materials and kits to support uninterrupted production and field service operations
Assembly / Repair Shop Support:
- Assemble mechanical and electrical components following work instructions and technical drawings
- Assist with teardown, inspection, cleaning, and reassembly of serviced equipment
- Support repair of Low Voltage (LV) products, motor starters, and basic Medium Voltage (MV) components
- Perform basic testing and quality checks on assembled units
- Maintain accurate labor tracking and job updates within shop systems (e.g., Salesforce)
- Read technician reports to understand scope of work prior to starting tasks
Field Service Support:
- Pick, stage, and deliver parts to active repair and testing bays
- Support technicians by ensuring timely availability of materials, minimizing downtime
- Prepare kits, tooling, and materials for field service jobs and outages
- Coordinate priorities with service teams to meet urgent operational needs
- Escalate part shortages, discrepancies, or technical questions proactively
Safety & Continuous Improvement:
- Follow all Toshiba safety, ESD, and maintenance protocols
- Maintain clean, organized workspaces using “clean-as-you-go” practices
- Ensure workstations are properly set up to prevent errors and inefficiencies
- Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities in warehouse and shop operations
Minimum Skills, Experience and Education Required:
- 2–5 years of experience in warehouse operations, assembly, manufacturing, or field service support
- Experience in industrial, mechanical, or power generation environments preferred
- Inventory management and transactional systems experience (Oracle EBS preferred)
- Mechanical aptitude with ability to read basic electrical/mechanical diagrams
- Experience with ERP/WMS systems and barcode scanning tools
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to prioritize and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills (Excel, data entry, job tracking systems)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical or vocational training (mechanical, electrical, or industrial) preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain
- Experience supporting field service or repair shop operations
- Familiarity with industrial equipment (motors, generators, turbines, or similar)
