Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will be responsible for greeting visitors, managing reservations, and ensuring excellent guest service throughout their experience. This role is vital in setting the tone for a positive dining or hospitality experience and requires strong communication skills, hospitality knowledge, and a customer-focused attitude.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements
- Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using POS systems such as Micros POS
- Provide menus and answer initial questions about the restaurant or hotel services
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand area
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth flow of service
- Handle phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette
- Assist guests with special requests or accommodations as needed
- Manage guest flow during busy hours to minimize wait times and maximize guest satisfaction
- Uphold high standards of hospitality, guest service, and professionalism at all times
Qualifications
- Previous experience in guest services, serving, or hospitality is preferred
- Strong communication skills and excellent phone etiquette
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems such as Micros POS; hotel experience is a plus
- Knowledge of food service operations and customer service principles
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Experience in restaurant or hotel settings is advantageous but not required
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
