This is a full-time, on-site position based out of our Alliston, ON, office.

The Ideal Candidate
This is a working supervisory role, requiring active involvement in both local and U.S. dispatch.
The successful candidate will:
- Dispatch drivers according to customer requests.
- Process and transmit information to coordinate driver activity.
- Collaborate with planners, drivers, and fellow dispatchers to ensure effective communication and smooth operations.
- Monitor personnel and equipment utilization to coordinate schedules, ensuring the efficient and timely movement of freight.
Qualifications:
- Completion of secondary school.
- Strong knowledge of transportation industry principles and practices.
- Familiarity with administrative and clerical procedures.
- Minimum of 4 years of dispatch experience (driver experience in the transportation industry considered an asset).
- Previous verifiable supervisory experience required.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with various personalities.
Duties & Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Gather and assess information from all relevant sources.
- Review and process U.S. Customs documents as required, including communication with Customs brokers.
- Demonstrate familiarity with ACE/ACI processes to provide support when necessary.
- Analyze information and make sound decisions to resolve problems effectively.
- Perform daily administrative tasks, including updating TMW and processing paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and drivers via email, satellite, and phone.
- Prioritize and organize tasks to meet daily objectives efficiently.
- Build and maintain constructive working relationships with colleagues and drivers.
- Supervise the driver pool directly.
- Monitor load status and ensure accurate, timely updates on relevant platforms.
- Review and respond to satellite messages consistently.
- Update driver information in TMW as required.
- Provide customer service related to load changes, scheduling, and issue resolution.
Job Type:
Permanent, Full-time
50-hour work week, 47.5 hours paid (2.5 hours of unpaid lunch breaks) exact afternoon start time to be determined.
