WHAT IS THIS JOB ABOUT:
We have an opportunity for an energetic Chef de Cuisine to work with our team to Lead & Cook for our Breakfast - Lunch, Catering during the week & lead Saturday - Sunday Brunch & Dinner.
Most usual days off are Mondays and Fridays.
Must be comfortable to cook in front of the customers (Brunch), prepare a variety of Hot Food dishes (for Catering & Lunch offerings), bake, prepare desserts, and have excellent knife skills & food plating skills.
Experience using & cleaning a deli meats slicer. Expertise in food safety & quality.
Must have at least 5 years of experience, managing a Kitchen and developing, training / recruiting a team.
Managing Equipment Maintenance, tram scheduling.
REQUIRED:
- Absolute Punctuality & be able to reliably come to work at the scheduled time.
To have the flexibility to come in earlier or stay later if required. Catering Orders will require this availability.
- Work Ethic, & Accountability
- Skill & confidence to cook in front of customers is a must.
- Excellent communication & teamwork skills
- Comfortable Baking or ready to develop the skill.
- Being able to design Menus, understand and manage costs / waste
- Prepare the current Weekend Brunch specials during the week.
- Must have strong drive and dedication to mentor & build a strong team.
- Help with maintaining inventory controls and purchasing
- Support front/sandwich stations when catering or special occasions
Physical work requirements:
Standing for long periods of time
Pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying up to 50lb at times when required
