Summary
As a Deli Clerk, you will be essential in delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring food safety in a fast-paced environment. Your core skills in food handling and customer interaction will be an asset as you assist customers with their selections.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Must have outgoing personality
- Provide friendly customer service to all clientele
- Maintain product displays and to follow rules of FIFO (First in and First Out)
- Slicing meats and cheeses
- Ensure quality of products meets established standards
- Understand all concepts of food safety and rotation
- Ability to read order sheets and guides
- Follow directions as given
- Keep a clean working environment
Qualifications and requirements
- Must have valid Food Safe certificate
- High School Graduate
- Deli experience an asset but willing to train the right candidate
- Self motivated and critical thinking an asset
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to work in freezer and cooler environments
- Able to work in a fast paced environment
- Comfortable and prepared to work with deli equipment: slicers, vacuum packing machines. scales, heat wrapper, knives etc.
