Position Summary
The PLC / Controls Specialist will be responsible for designing, programming, debugging, and commissioning industrial automation systems. Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will support the development and implementation of electrical controls, robotics, automation systems, drives, and manufacturing equipment integration projects.
The successful candidate will have strong PLC and HMI programming experience, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and a passion for automation technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and troubleshoot PLC-based automation systems.
Program and modify PLCs using Rockwell, Schneider, and Siemens platforms.
Develop and configure HMI applications and operator interfaces.
Support electrical controls, drives, robotics, and automation projects from concept through startup.
Perform machine startup, commissioning, debugging, and system optimization.
Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, and control system issues.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, pneumatic drawings, and technical documentation.
Support machine vision and systems integration projects.
Participate in equipment testing, validation, and customer acceptance activities.
Create technical documentation, operating procedures, and project reports.
Collaborate with engineering, controls, robotics, and manufacturing teams to deliver successful projects.
Travel to customer sites for installation, commissioning, and support as required.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of PLC and controls programming experience.
Two-year technical diploma or four-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.

Siemens TIA Portal
Strong understanding of industrial automation systems and controls.
Experience with machine startup, commissioning, and debugging.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics.
Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with robotic automation systems.
Knowledge of additional PLC and HMI platforms.
Previous experience within the automation industry.
Experience with machine vision integration and industrial networking.
