SEDA is looking for inspiring instructors to deliver speech and debate programming for young people grades 5 – 10 at our Regina summer camp. You will be responsible for providing a fun and educational experience for all participants.
Term: Approximately 65 - 80 hours over 3 weeks (July 30 – August 19). Hours variable based on program delivery.
Compensation:
- Onboarding & training rate: $17.50 (10 - 20 hrs)
- Program preparation & delivery rate: $19.00 (55 - 60 hrs)
The Saskatchewan Elocution and Debate Association (SEDA) is a registered non-profit charity, that delivers programs that help young people build and demonstrate real-world communication and critical thinking skills.
What you’ll be doing
- Teaching public speaking and debate skills at camp.
- Providing a safe, enjoyable, and educational experience for all participants
- Participating in feedback processes.
The Camp Instructors will work from home, attending virtual meetings and training, as well as from camp venue (Regina Huda School, 40 Sheppard St. Regina)
What we’re looking for
- Minimum grade 11 education
- Experience teaching young people grades 5 -10
- Team player with leadership skills/experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Reliable and organized
- Access to a computer/laptop/tablet with reliable internet (some meetings may be virtual)
- Speech or debate experience
- Successful criminal record and vulnerable sector check
