Personal Support Worker (Female Caregiver) – Day Shift

Shift: 08:00 AM – 1:00 PM & 05:00PM-09:00PM(09-hour Shift)

Overview
Prestiva Home Care Inc. is looking for a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Female Personal Support Worker (PSW)/Caregiver/Home support worker to provide overnight care for an elderly client. This role focuses on ensuring the client's comfort, safety, and well-being throughout the night while providing respectful, person-centered care in a private home.

Responsibilities
- Provide day supervision and ensure the client's safety and comfort.
- Assist with personal care, including toileting, dressing, grooming, and hygiene as needed.
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility support.
- Provide medication reminders according to the care plan.
- Prepare light snacks or beverages if required.
- Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry, tidying, and maintaining a clean environment.
- Offer companionship and emotional support during overnight hours.
- Monitor the client's condition and promptly report any changes to the family or care coordinator.
- Follow the individualized care plan while maintaining client privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
- Respond calmly and appropriately in case of emergencies.
- Assist the client with prescribed physiotherapy exercise and mobility activities at home.
Qualifications
- Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience caring for seniors, including individuals with dementia or mobility limitations, is an asset.
- Compassionate, patient, dependable, and professional.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently during day shifts.
Requirements
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Certificate.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Proof of eligibility to work in Canada.
- Reliable transportation is considered an asset.
