Come be part of our small boutique law firm with a focus on various real estate, corporate and estate matters and transactions. We are currently seeking a skilled, competent, and trustworthy law clerk with experience is corporate and estates law to join our team.
As a Law Clerk, you will perform various tasks to ensure the ease of file handling for the lawyers at the law firm on various corporate and estate matters. Your ability to remain organized in a deadline-driven environment is essential. Your ability to work as a team player is critical.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with the preparation, drafting and filing of court forms (for Applications for Certificate of Appointment), correspondence, reporting letters, and other legal documents with respect to the Estate Administration process. You will also assist with drafting Wills, Power of Attorneys and other estate planning documents.
- Assisting with the preparation, drafting of corporate legal documentation and business purchase, sale and financing transactions (such as share or asset transactions), incorporations, Dissolutions, updating corporate minute books and various other corporate matters.
- Prepare preliminary commercial documents, templates and checklists as guided and instructed by the lawyers, prepare and review requisition and closing documents for business transactions (including final reports to banks and clients). Assist with closing transactions, such as attending the bank and post office.
- Process general clerical work. Drafting, photocopying and filing, typing as well as scheduling on behalf of the legal team.
- Booking appointments with clients.
- Draft, manage and file corporate legal documentation
Qualifications
- Completion of accredited Law Clerk program.
- 1-3 years of prior experiences as a law clerk at a law firm is preferred
- Ability to multi-task efficiently
- Ability to manage files independently with minimal supervision and working with a team when required
- Proficiency with Unity, Teraview, and Ontario land registry systems, Ecore, accounting software (Soluno and other accounting platforms/or PCLaw), knowledge of document management software – Microsoft Office,Excel
- Must have own vehicle
- Experience in Real Estate Law is an asset, but not required

Pay: $45,000.00-$48,000.00 per year
