Core Logging Geologist
Kirkland Lake Discoveries Corp. is a gold exploration company working in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. We are looking for Core Logging Geologists to join our team for our drill program. Accommodation and mileage to/from Kirkland Lake are provided.
Schedule:
This job follows a 2-week rotation (2 weeks on, 2 weeks off). Regular working day is 8AM to 5PM
Duties:
Reporting to the Project Geologist of the Company or designate, the Core Logging Geologist is responsible for, but not limited to:
Logging of diamond drill core in MX Deposit.
Periodically performing field activities related to diamond drilling, visiting and working around diamond drills.
Periodically directing field crews and diamond drilling contractors working on the project.
As required working in the field to conduct surficial mapping, sampling and geological investigations.
Working with GIS, Leapfrog and related software and managing data related to field activities.
Directing other staff, specifically core labourers and geotechnicians to assist in the processing of drill core.
Following all Health, Safety and Environment (“HSE”) policies and standards implemented by the Company. Supporting the development of the Company's specific HSE policies and standards.
Performing other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
Geology Science Degree.
Experience in the Abitibi region (Kirkland Lake Gold Camp is ideal) preferred.
Registered as GIT in Ontario, or able to be
Strong work ethic and good organizational skills.
Prior logging experience and GIS/Leapfrog knowledge would be a benefit.
Driver’s license, experience on snowmobile and ATV a benefit.
