Position Summary:
The Landscape Maintenance Team Lead is responsible for the successful day-to-day execution of assigned maintenance routes.
This is a working leadership position. The Team Lead performs landscape maintenance while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to Bakken Landscape standards.
The Team Lead owns the daily outcome of their route, including workmanship, productivity, equipment care, and customer satisfaction.
Position Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to deliver consistent, high-quality landscape maintenance services while leading by example in the field.
Primary Responsibilities:
Crew Leadership
- Lead assigned maintenance crew throughout the workday
- Set the pace and standard for workmanship
- Delegate tasks appropriately
- Maintain a professional work environment
- Train new employees on company procedures
- Work with minimal supervision
- Work overtime if required
Route Execution:
Complete scheduled maintenance services including:
- Lawn mowing
- Line trimming
- Edging
- Hedge trimming
- Pruning
- Weed control
- Garden bed maintenance
- Seasonal cleanups
- Planting
- Mulching
- Minor irrigation adjustments
- Property clean-up
Quality Control:
- Ensure every property meets company quality standards
- Complete work according to allocated time budgets
- Identify deficiencies before leaving site
- Report additional work opportunities
Equipment:
Responsible for:
- Daily equipment inspections
- Cleaning equipment
- Fueling equipment
- Reporting maintenance issues
- Safe operation of all company tools
Safety
Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment.
Including:
- Daily PPE compliance
- Safe equipment operation
- Hazard identification
- Traffic control where required
- Incident reporting
- Following WorkSafeBC regulations
Customer Service:
Represent Bakken Landscape professionally.
Communicate respectfully with customers.
Answer basic questions on site.
Refer pricing or project requests to the Sales Team.

Qualifications
Required
- 2+ years landscape maintenance experience
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence
- Comfortable operating commercial landscape equipment
- Strong communication skills
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Able to work outdoors in all weather
Preferred
- Trailer experience
- Zero-turn mower experience
- Herbicide Applicator Certificate
- Irrigation knowledge
