Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Educator Assistant to support classroom activities and foster a nurturing learning environment for young children. This role involves implementing educational programs, engaging with children, and ensuring a safe and inclusive space for early development. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a foundational understanding of early childhood education principles.
Duties
- Engage in planning and executing daily classroom activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development
- Assist children with their activities, including play, arts and crafts, and learning exercises
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
- Engage children in age-appropriate educational games and discussions to encourage participation
- Support children with special needs or disabilities as directed by the lead teacher
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to foster positive relationships
- Assist in monitoring children's behavior and providing guidance to promote positive interactions
- Help with meal times, nap times, and other routine care activities as needed
- Assist children with personal care needs, including toileting, diaper changing, handwashing, and other hygiene routines while maintaining children's dignity, comfort, and safety in accordance with health and sanitation guidelines.
Requirements
- Experience working in a classroom or with children preferred
- Knowledge of early childhood education practices and developmental milestones
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Compassionate attitude towards working with diverse groups of children
- Basic skills in math for assisting with educational activities involving numbers or counting
- Must be patient, attentive, organized, and committed to creating a positive learning environment
Pay: $18.25-$22.00 per hour
