GRIT Engineering Inc. provides professional consulting services in site plan development, land development, municipal review, and geotechnical engineering. We are looking for a technologist who is driven to succeed and seeking advancement opportunities as the firm grows. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for geotechnical investigations, materials testing, and Excess Soil Management in accordance with O.Reg 406/19. This individual will also contribute to team development and promote the values of GRIT.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and perform fieldwork and sampling, including but not limited to borehole drilling, test pit monitoring, subgrade inspections and well installations.
- Perform inspections for materials testing and support of junior staff.
- Complete laboratory testing and including sieve/hydrometers, Proctor testing, and unit weight testing.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Environmental Engineering Technology
- Eligible for or currently holding a C.Tech designation with OACETT (considered an asset)
- Experience and aptitude to work with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills, with solid problem-solving ability and an approachable, enthusiastic interpersonal style
- Willingness to travel within Ontario.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
