About the Role
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Project Specialist to join their team. In this role, you will build strong client relationships, manage logistics operations, and ensure a high standard of service delivery across project accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for customers, responding to inquiries promptly via phone and email
- Coordinate shipments across air, ocean, rail, and ground transportation
- Manage freight requests, quotes, customs coordination, and documentation
- Select and communicate with carriers, vendors, and internal teams
- Track shipments, resolve issues, and proactively prevent service failures
- Handle billing processes, including invoice accuracy, cost tracking, and discrepancy resolution
- Monitor reports, identify exceptions, and implement corrective actions
- Maintain accurate records in the freight management system
- Support SOP development and implementation for new and existing accounts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in freight forwarding or project logistics
- Strong knowledge of transportation modes (air, ocean, ground, rail)
- Understanding of Canadian customs processes and Incoterms
- Experience with CargoWise (preferred)
- IATA, IMO, or TDG certifications considered an asset
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
