To support this complexity, a Business Consultant - Senior is required to provide senior-level coordination, integration, and oversight across multiple concurrent eHealth initiatives. The role will focus on enabling effective delivery by supporting governance processes, maintaining portfolio-level visibility, and ensuring consistent planning, tracking, and reporting across projects. This resource will work closely with project managers, technical teams, program areas, and governance bodies to support informed decision-making and maintain momentum across interdependent initiatives.
The Services provided by the resource include, but are not limited to:
- Support coordination across multiple eHealth initiatives and work streams to ensure alignment with Ministry priorities and governance expectations;
- Lead, facilitate and document strategic plans and priorities, aligning to Ministry vision; - Identify projects to achieve this vision;
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops and focus groups;
- Prepare and present strategies and information to steering committees and project groups; - Prepare and deliver presentations about initiatives or issues to executives and staff, steering committees, project groups and other stakeholders; - Assist with risk management and issues management
- Develop and execute change management plans and communication plans
- Develop business cases through a consultative approach with business sponsors and key stakeholders, identifying benefits and performance measure indicators;
- Document initiative/project backgrounds, descriptions, environmental analyses, financial modeling, alternatives, impacts, risks, cost-benefit analyses, recommendations, implementation strategies, and approval processes;
- Provide quality assurance services throughout the business case development to ensure completeness and consistency of documentation, which could include content review;
- Identify risks associated with business cases and their implementation; and
- Integrate and align multiple business cases; understand and document dependencies.
Additional Project & Engagement Details
Incumbency Status: Previously this role was filled by a contractor, however, for this and all other opportunities, the Ministry seeks the best person to fill the role.
Residency Requirement: Resource must reside in Canada for the duration of the contract.
Per worker model below this is a Hybrid role.
Working Hours and Location:
- Standard Hours of work are 8:00 to 5:00 with a 1 hr lunch break Alberta time, Monday through Friday excluding holidays observed by the province.
- Working Hours: The expectation is for the resource to work 8hr per day (staying in budget) but will be expected to attend online meetings and available to answer questions as required during business hours.
- Location: ATB Place- 17TH FL -10025 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton, AB (Hybrid)
- This resource will primarily work remotely; however, the resource may be required to attend meetings or work sessions in office on reasonable notice from the Province. At the time of providing such notice, the Province will advise of the expected duration of any such meetings or work sessions. However, time to travel and any associated expenses to and from Edmonton and/or travel within Alberta will be at no cost to the Province. This will typically be once per quarter but may be adjusted depending on business needs
- When working remote hours all data must remain within Canada

The Supplier shall, prior to commencement of the Services, provide the Province, on its request and at no cost to the Province, with criminal record checks.
Mandatory Training Courses:
- Once hired the resource will be required to complete all mandatory training which includes but not limited to Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Security/Cybersecurity, Information Management, Respect in the Workplace and Health Information Act (HIA). There may also be other mandatory and/or optional training.
Anticipated Interviews Dates:
- Interviews are estimated to be held between interviews between April 10-15th . This is an estimate only
