Evertek Engineering is a fast growing, technical consultancy firm providing Geotechnical Engineering services. Evertek Engineering is currently recruiting for a full-time, permanent Geotechnical Engineers to join our team in Abbotsford, British Columbia. The successful candidates will be responsible for all aspects of design, technical reports, coordination, and field work associated with geotechnical engineering on a variety of projects in the residential, commercial, and industrial setting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carry out and coordinate geotechnical investigations for buildings, excavation, and shoring, retaining walls, slope stability in land development, commercial/residential development, and municipal infrastructure projects.
- Carry out and coordinate field geohazard assessments.
- Carry out and coordinate field review of construction works and materials testing.
- Prepare, write, and review proposals and technical reports.
- Conduct and review geotechnical engineering analysis.
- Work directly under senior engineering staff to develop technical skills, local geotechnical experience, and contribute to a positive team environment
- Other duties as assigned.
- Liaise with Evertek's Civil Group on land development projects.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in geological engineering, geotechnical, or civil (geotechnical option) engineering.
- Sound knowledge of the application of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, geomorphology, engineering geology, and hydrogeology.
- Currently registered or eligible for immediate registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia.
- Diverse, geologically-oriented, geotechnical engineering experience in Canada (experience in BC considered an asset).
- Proficiency with geotechnical software applications.
- Seismic assessment, soil and rock slope stability review and design, retaining wall design, foundation design, pile design, shoring design, and pavement design.
- Strong technical skills (project management skills are considered an asset).
- Excellent workplace safety practices.
- Excellent oral and written communication (English) skills.
- Valid BC driver's license.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal tactfully and effectively with team-mates.
