Summary:
We are seeking an experienced FCAW Welder (preferably in stainless steel) to join our night shift team. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding custom steel fabrications, working on unique and custom projects that require proficiency in various welding disciplines. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional welding skills across multiple techniques and materials (mainly stainless steel), along with the ability to interpret drawings and weld symbols. Safety consciousness, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work area are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Weld custom steel fabrications as required, demonstrating expertise in various FCAW (and GTAW) welding techniques.
- Utilize FCAW welding for stainless steel (less of carbon steel) and GMAW welding for aluminum, meeting CWB requirements.
- Experience with GTAW/TIG welding.
- Read and interpret drawings and weld symbols to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote a safe and efficient work environment.
- Perform physical duties including lifting steel parts, operating shop equipment, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods.
- Support a safe work environment by adhering to all safety procedures according to Ministry of Labour requirements, including equipment checks, proper training, and reporting defective equipment.
- Complete any other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary diploma/certification in welding or equivalent experience.
- Certified welder with demonstrated proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques, specifically FCAW on stainless steel.
- Ability to read and decipher drawings and welding symbols accurately.
- Physically fit and able to perform duties including lifting heavy objects and standing for long periods.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
