JOB TITLE: ESL Teacher
JOB OVERVIEW
The Centre Linguistique specializes in short immersion programs teenagers. We are currently running our Explore program and we are looking for a ESL teacher to provide dynamic and creative lessons.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach ESL to a group of around 18 students varying in age from 13-15 years
- Plan lessons with a focus on task based learning.
- Provide daily lesson plans based on the curriculum and guidelines supplied.
- Keep records of student attendance and grades
- Submit other administrative forms as required
- Attend all scheduled staff meetings and special events (closing ceremony)
- Assist students in their overall adjustment to the program by directing them to appropriate staff members when necessary and by notifying administrative staff of any issues needing attention
- Deliver a high quality ESL program to students
REQUIREMENTS
- Dynamic, enthusiastic, patient, and creative
- TESL Canada Certification (or equivalency)
- Bachelor of Education is considered an asset
- Experience in teaching English as a Second Language
- Good organizational skills
- Knowledge of current methods and approaches in second language instruction
- Experience with teenagers
- Interested in other cultures
JOB DETAILS
Position: ESL Teacher
Salary: $30-$37 per hour
Job Duration: 2 weeks, July 27th to August 6th, 2026
Schedule: Monday to Friday 9 AM to 1 PM
Location: Algonquin College, 1385 Woodroffe Ave, Ottawa, ON K2G 1V8
