Accounting Assistant (Part-Time)

Superior Memorials has been creating memories in stone since 1924. We are currently looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team. If you enjoy working with numbers, have strong organizational skills, and take pride in accuracy, we'd love to hear from you.
Reporting to the Accounts Manager, you will support the day-to-day accounting functions of our manufacturing business. The ideal candidate has experience with full-cycle accounting, is proficient in Sage 50 (or similar accounting software), and enjoys working in a collaborative office environment.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- HST, Payroll, EHT Reporting and Source Deductions
- Assist with daily accounting activities, including reporting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using Sage 50
- Process vendor invoices, customer payments, and other accounting transactions.
- Prepare and record weekly bank deposits.
- Support the maintenance of efficient accounting systems, processes, and procedures while ensuring compliance with established accounting standards and company policies.
- Reconcile financial information and assist with month-end accounting activities as required.
- Provide administrative support, including filing documents and communicating with vendors, customers, and team members.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
- Minimum 5 years of full-cycle accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Sage 50 or comparable accounting software.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat).
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
- Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently while contributing as part of a team.
