Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and dedicated Pet Store Team Member to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting customers with their pet needs, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting pet products, supplies, and accessories
- Provide knowledgeable advice on pet care, nutrition, and product usage
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store, including stocking shelves and cleaning display areas
- Handle transactions accurately
- Assist with caring for live animals, including feeding, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring health
- Perform heavy lifting when restocking supplies or moving large items around the store
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed to create a safe shopping environment for customers and staff
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and enhance the overall customer experience.
- Utilize time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively during busy periods.
- Communicate pet care requirements and ideals, assist customers in finding appropriate products to achieve those objectives.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Passion for animals and knowledge of pet care is a strong asset
- Previous retail and/or pet business experience an asset
- Good communication skills to effectively assist customers and team members
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Flexibility to work weekends or holidays as needed
- Possess high school diploma (or equivalent) and be at least 18 years of age
