Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable 5-Ton P&D Driver to join our logistics team. This role involves the safe and efficient delivery of freight using a 5-ton truck, ensuring timely distribution across designated routes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations, heavy equipment operation, and vehicle maintenance, contributing to the smooth operation of our transportation services.
Duties
- Safely operate a 5-ton truck for pickup and delivery of freight to various locations.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs.
- Assist with forklift operation for loading and unloading cargo, ensuring proper handling of freight.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during transportation activities.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse personnel to coordinate deliveries and pickups.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with a 5-ton truck or similar vehicle.
- Skilled in forklift operation and freight handling procedures.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and basic automotive repair is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
- Prior experience in logistics, transportation, or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for specific operational procedures. Qualifications:
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record (air brakes (Q) endorsement is an asset, but not required).
- Strong communication and customer service skills.

- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Reasonably physically fit and able to lift up to 100lbs.
- Ability to work early mornings.
