Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Yard Labourer to join our dynamic Nelson Homes team. In this role, you will be an essential part of our operations. Your energetic approach and attention to safety will help maintain an efficient and organized work environment. This is a full-time position with hours Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm and the occasional weekend.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The key duties and responsibilities of the position are:
- Support the Construction Manager with the day-to-day operations and coordination of the RTM site
- Help unload and organize incoming materials in a safe and efficient manner
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant construction site at all times
- Pick up and delivery of construction material
- Daily walk through of houses
- Prepare houses for delivery
- Seasonal work – shoveling snow, heaters & cords, cutting grass, picking up garbage etc.
- -Carry out additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management to support overall project objectives
Skills and Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have the following skills and qualifications:
- Be very personable, outgoing, self-motivated, responsible, and hard working with a very high standard of customer service with communication and time management skills
- Must have forklift experience
- Be extremely organized with the ability to multi-task
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean abstract
- Zoom boom experience would be a definite asset
- Knowledge and understanding of construction and blueprints would be an asset
