Community Care and Support Worker
Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Community Care and Support Workers to provide personalized assistance to individuals in their homes and community settings. This role involves supporting seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in developmental disabilitied care, nursing home environments, and/or home care, with a strong focus on promoting independence, safety, and well-being. Clear understanding of behaviors and de-escalation processes.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication administration following prescribed schedules and safety protocols
- Support clients with meal preparation and nutrition needs, ensuring dietary requirements are met
- Help with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and maintaining a safe environment
- Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance clients’ quality of life
- Assist with mobility and transfers to prevent falls or injuries
- Support clients with dementia or cognitive impairments through specialized care techniques
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed
- Encourage participation in community activities to promote social engagement
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care preferred
- Knowledge of senior care, dementia care, and working with individuals with disabilities
- Ability to administer medication accurately and responsibly
- Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach
- Ability to perform light cleaning and meal preparation tasks
- Excellent communication skills and patience when working with vulnerable populations
- Valid driver’s license is a plus for transportation needs
- Certification in caregiving or relevant training is advantageous but not mandatory
