Job Summary
The Packaging Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the packaging department within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures that packaging processes are efficient, meet quality standards, and align with production goals. The supervisor leads a team of packaging operators, implements process improvements, and maintains compliance with safety and quality regulations. A strong understanding of manufacturing systems, supply chain management, and continuous improvement methodologies is essential to optimize workflow and enhance productivity.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate packaging activities to ensure timely and accurate completion of orders
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline processes and reduce waste
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure packaging meets company standards and regulatory requirements
- Lead process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing costs
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to manage inventory levels and ensure availability of packaging materials
- Provide training and guidance to packaging staff on equipment operation, safety procedures, and best practices
- Monitor packaging equipment performance; coordinate maintenance or repairs as needed
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
Experience
- Proven experience in manufacturing or production environments, preferably in packaging or assembly roles
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to packaging machinery and equipment operation
- Knowledge of process improvement techniques including lean manufacturing and continuous improvement strategies
- Understanding of supply chain processes, MRP systems, and quality control standards
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience is required; leadership skills are highly valued
- Ability to analyze workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement effective solutions
Pay: From $18.20 per hour
