Summary
The Punch Press Operator is responsible for operating punch press equipment to trim, punch, form, and finish sand castings in accordance with production requirements and quality standards. This role ensures castings are processed safely, efficiently, and accurately while maintaining equipment and adhering to company safety procedures. This position is currently running on day shift with the possibility of moving to the afternoon shift depending on production needs.
Key Responsibilities
Production
- Operate punch press and related finishing equipment to remove excess material from sand castings.
- Load and unload castings safely and efficiently.
- Inspect castings before and after processing to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Follow work instructions, production schedules, and quality requirements.
- Perform secondary finishing operations as required.
- Meet daily production targets while maintaining quality standards.
- Sort and stage completed parts for the next operation.
Quality
- Conduct visual inspections of castings for defects, damage, or dimensional concerns.
- Identify and report non-conforming products to the supervisor or quality department.
- Complete required production and quality documentation accurately.
- Ensure finished castings meet customer specifications and company standards.
