SUMMARY:
We are seeking a hands-on, flexible and knowledgeable Product Quality Control Technician for 6 months to implement our Continuous Product Safety and Quality Monitoring Program. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Supervisor, this individual should have a good eye for detail, capable of handling and scoring a large set of product samples on a daily basis, collecting data, making trends and report findings to the department head.
NOTE:
- This is a contract role for 6 months
- The candidate must be available to work FULL-TIME (Afternoon Shift)
- Monday to Friday, 10:00AM to 06:00PM
- Weekends as needed
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure GMP compliance on the floor, conduct inspections
- Conduct inspection of raw material storage area for compliance with SOP
- Collect hourly samples from the line and perform evaluation on key indicators
- Log readings and generate product Quality reports
- Assist R&D with data collection during trials as well as post-trial product evaluation
- Conduct chemical and physical analysis. Salt and moisture content determination.
- Conduct sifter tailing of flour
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma
- Formal Education in Food Science field or 1-year relevant experience
- Well organized and detail oriented
- Strong analytical skills
- Able to work flexible hours and shifts including weekends as required
- Ability to collect, maintain, evaluate date, summarize and write reports
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment an asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Result oriented and multi-tasking
- The ability to work with minimum supervision
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
