Job Summary
HB Cycle is a family-owned powersports and marine dealership proudly representing BRP, KTM, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Legend Boats, and Mercury outboards. We sell and service ATVs, side-by-sides, personal watercraft, motorcycles, boats and outboards for customers who love the outdoors as much as we do. As our business continues to grow, we’re looking to add a motivated PDI / Oil & Lube Technician to our service team.
Position Overview
The PDI / Oil & Lube Technician is responsible for preparing new and used units for delivery and performing basic maintenance services. This is a hands-on shop role that’s ideal for someone mechanically inclined who wants to build a career in powersports and marine.
You will work closely with our licensed technicians and service advisors to ensure every unit leaving HB Cycle is safe, clean, and ready for our customers to enjoy.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI):
- Perform complete PDIs on new and used units (ATV, SxS, motorcycle, PWC, boat & outboard) according to manufacturer and dealership checklists
- Verify proper assembly, fluid levels, tire pressures, torque specs, battery condition and charging
- Road-test / water-test units as required (where permitted and applicable)
- Oil & Lube / Basic Maintenance:
- Perform oil and filter changes, gear lube services, and basic fluid services
- Replace tires, batteries, spark plugs and other wear items under guidance
- Assist with winterization / summarization of units and boats
- Shop Support:
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Move units safely in and out of the shop and yard
- Assist licensed technicians with setup, installs and repairs as needed
- Follow all safety procedures and use proper PPE
- Documentation:
- Accurately complete work orders and inspection forms
- Report any additional issues or concerns found during PDI or service
Qualifications
Required:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools
- Valid driver’s licence with clean driving record
- Ability to safely move and operate motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides and boats (training provided)
- Ability to lift and move up to 50–75 lbs and work on your feet for most of the day
- High attention to detail and pride in doing the job right
- Reliability and strong work ethic – shows up on time and ready to work
Preferred (an asset, not required):
- Experience in a powersports, marine, automotive, small engine or agricultural shop
- Basic knowledge of Can-am, Skidoo, Sea-doo, KTM, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Legend Boats or Mercury products
- Experience with oil changes, tire changes, or PDIs in any dealership environment
- Marine / powersports enthusiast with a passion for the products we sell
