Job Description
This job requires you to work as part of the Genx Construction team on various projects in Ottawa and surrounding areas. Outdoor and indoor work sites. Work on both residential and commercial projects and complete a wide variety of carpentry and construction tasks. You will have the opportunity to learn new skills and advance your existing skills. Your excellent communication skills assist you as you work collaboratively with construction crews. Health and safety are important to you which is why you respect all policies and procedures and ensure that they are followed by other employees and subcontractors. You are a get-it-done person who likes to be active and isn't afraid to jump right in and make things happen.

General Requirements
- Valid Driver’s license required (Class G, G2) and access to a reliable vehicle – pick-up truck preferred but not required. Ability to drive to multiple sites in a single workday.
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes using measuring tools. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
- Fit and install trim items such as rails, columns, cedar soffits, doors, stairs (decks).
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
- Show up on-time, ready and prepared to work with all safety and appropriate work wear in accordance with the work conditions of the day.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Mature individual who is self-motivated, dependable, and accountable.
- Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Physically fit with the ability to lift heavy materials and tools.
- Detail-oriented and maintain strong focus on tasks.
- Must have own basic personal protective safety equipment and hand tools
Other Qualifications (not required)
- CPR/First Aid Certificate
- Fall Arrest Protection Certificate
