Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter & Decorator to join our team. This role involves transforming spaces through expert painting and decorating techniques, ensuring high-quality finishes for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and restoration, with the ability to interpret blueprints and schematics. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects that require precision, creativity, and excellent customer service skills.
Duties:
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes using hand tools and power tools with precision
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project specifications
- Perform construction painting for new builds or renovation projects in residential, commercial, or industrial settings
- Execute restoration work by matching existing finishes and repairing surfaces as needed
- Utilize rigging techniques to reach high or difficult areas safely
- Operate carpentry tools for minor repairs or modifications prior to painting
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and client specifications
- Maintain a clean work environment and properly store tools and materials after each project
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members to ensure project expectations are met or exceeded
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in construction painting, restoration, residential painting, commercial painting, or industrial painting
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, caulking guns, and rigging equipment
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation techniques and finishing processes
- Excellent time management skills to complete projects efficiently within deadlines
- Good communication skills for interacting with clients and team members effectively
- Experience with carpentry or related trades is a plus
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to working at heights or with hazardous materials is preferred
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism and a customer service-oriented attitude
