Job Description:
City University of Seattle in Canada is seeking a committed faculty member for a continuing teaching position in the Master of Counselling program. This role balances teaching responsibilities with scholarly and professional development, supporting a dynamic and student-centered educational environment.
This part-time continuing faculty position includes a focus on teaching, with additional responsibilities in scholarly activities, professional development, service, and administration.
Teaching (75%):
- Teach 5 graduate-level courses per year, or equivalent model, within compensation, as assigned by the Academic Program Director.

Participate in developing and updating course curricula and materials.

Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.

Incorporate innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance student learning.
Scholarly Activities, Service, and Administrative Tasks (25%)
Scholarly Activities
- Conduct original research in counselling-related fields.

Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at professional conferences.

Collaborate and mentor colleagues on research initiatives.

Serve on editorial boards for academic journals.
Service and Administrative Tasks
- Serve on departmental and university committees or initiatives.

Participate in departmental meetings and planning sessions.

Provide guidance and mentorship to students throughout the program.

Provide additional instructional support as assigned.

Engage in community outreach and professional service activities.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:

- PhD in Counselling Psychology or related fields from a recognized program accredited by CCPA, CPA, or equivalent.

A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience at the post-secondary level.

A record of recent scholarship or research.

A record of service.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching and research.

Related and applicable experience in the counselling profession.

Registration with CCC or equivalent is desired.

Specialization in one or more of the following fields of counselling: diversity and culture; testing and assessment; family systems; professional ethics and law; counselling psychology theory.
