Position Overview
The Production Supervisor, reporting to the Plant Manager,is responsible for overseeing day-to-day production activities on shift, ensuring schedules are executed, processes are followed, and performance targets are met.
This is not a “watch people work” role. The team is experienced—you’re there to remove roadblocks, keep operations running smoothly, and continuously improve how things get done.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead shift operations (with 13-16 ppl) to ensure production schedules are executed safely, efficiently, and on time
- Coordinate workflow and ensure operators have the materials, tools, and information needed to perform
- Monitor production KPIs (output, efficiency, scrap, downtime) and take action to address gaps
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality standards
- Identify process inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap and waste
- Act as the first point of contact for production issues and escalate when required
- Collaborate with maintenance to address equipment issues and minimize downtime
- Support new process implementation, line setups, and changeovers
- Maintain accurate production reporting and shift documentation
- Reinforce health & safety standards and ensure compliance on the floor
- Provide guidance, coaching, and support to operators to maintain performance and accountability
Qualifications
- At least 3–5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (foam or similar process-driven industry preferred)
- Previous experience in a Lead Hand / Production Lead / Senior Operator role
- Strong understanding of production processes, workflow coordination, and KPI management
- Experience in continuous improvement and quality control (lean manufacturing, waste reduction, process optimization)
- Secondary school diploma
- Ability to troubleshoot operational issues and make real-time decisions
- Strong interpersonal skills—able to lead experienced teams without micromanaging
- Excellent communication skills
- Comfortable working with production data, reporting, and basic systems (ERP/MES preferred)
- Knowledge of health & safety standards in an industrial environment
