We are looking for our next General Manager! The General Manager has the overall management responsibilities of our operations in Alberta for AGF Rebar inc. As such, the General Manager is responsible for leading the administrativem operations, plant, and field teams. The incumbent will have full P&L responsibility and will develop, plan, implement and continuously improve business and operational strategies to ensure the division's growth and financial profitability. He will create a motivating and engaging teamwork environment throughout the entire branch to maximize employee satisfaction and efficiency.

Responsibilities:
- Lead, plan and manage our activities by developing and implementing business strategies in line with the company's goals and objectives;
- Manage P&L and balance sheet performance by driving overall profitability, planning annual budgets and build sources of growth and value creation;
- Develop short and long term plans, while measuring progress through reports, activities and KPI's to make sure targets and objectives are met or exceeded on an ongoing basis;
- Plan and manage the overall operation’s team development and resource allocation;
- Responsible for overseeing project management while providing leadership and strategic direction for the different stages of the projects;
- Review project proposal or plan to validate time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements and allotment of available resources to various phases of project;
- Finalize sales, approve cost estimate and oversee projects budgets and schedules;
- Responsible for overseeing key operational and logistical activities of the branches such as customer service, order processing, shipping and handling of material, transportation logistics, inventory control, purchasing of everyday supplies, placing activities on job sites and equipment maintenance;
- Take active part in business development and selling efforts by building and maintain customer relationships;
- Ensure strong internal communication between all departments of the business (operations, production, sales and finance);
- Implement a culture of safety throughout the company by ensuring that safety policies and procedures as well as applicable health and safety laws and regulations are adhered to;
- Ensure that employees receive proper and adequate training required by their occupations;
- Create engagement and strong team spirit while creating a positive climate and cooperation;
Requirements:
- Bachelor‘s Degree in Civil Engineering, Operations Managements, or Business Administration;
- 5 to 7 years of experience in a similar managerial role in the construction industry;
- Strategic management skills (planning, financial, analysis, project management);
- Experience in rebar, pre-cast, steel or concrete is a must;
- Experience with sales proposal and contract interpretation;
- Ability to work under pressure;
- Strong leadership, team-building and managerial skills;
- Great communicator and ability to multitask.
