Overview
Brampton manufacturer needs an experienced Warehouse Team Lead to oversee daily warehouse operations, ensure efficient distribution processes, and lead a team of 5 to 7 warehouse staff. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of supply chain management, warehouse management systems, and process improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities including order picking, packing, shipping, and receiving.
- Lead and manage warehouse team members (3 to 7 depending on the business needs) to ensure productivity and adherence to safety protocols.
- Oversee picking, packing, inventory counts and shipping meet required KPI's.
- Oversee inventory control processes including cycle counts and stock reconciliation.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and streamline supply chain operations.
- Manage the use of equipment such as forklifts; ensure proper training and safety compliance for all operators.
- Maintain accurate documentation using Microsoft Office tools.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement through team training, feedback sessions, and process evaluations. This role is a "hands on opportunity" to work with the Team in meeting company objectives.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies; conduct safety audits regularly.
- Skills
- 2+ years proven leadership experience in warehouse management, supervising teams within manufacturing or distribution environments.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent communication skills in English both written and verbal.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) as well as ERP systems
- Knowledge of supply chain processes including purchasing, order processing, inventory management, and shipping logistics.
- Experience operating forklifts with CounterBalance Forklift License.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and 3PL operations.
- Strong analytical skills for data analysis and process improvement initiatives.
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely; physical stamina for standing long periods is required.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
