Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Metal Fabrication and Welding Shop Foreman to lead our manufacturing team. This leadership role involves overseeing daily operations within the fabrication and welding shop, ensuring production efficiency, quality standards, and safety compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, expertise in manufacturing processes, and proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily shop activities related to metal fabrication and welding operations.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve quality through lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Oversee the implementation of quality control standards to ensure products meet specifications and safety regulations.
- Manage workflow scheduling using ERP systems like SAP and MRP modules to ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to monitor inventory levels, order materials, and streamline procurement processes.
- Provide technical guidance on assembly procedures, welding techniques, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Train and mentor shop personnel on best practices in manufacturing, safety protocols, and process improvements.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and work areas to maintain a safe working environment.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts by analyzing production data and implementing corrective actions for process optimization.
Requirements
- Proven experience in metal fabrication, welding, or manufacturing leadership roles.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in assembly processes and welding techniques.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, including modules like MRP for inventory management.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, process improvement strategies, and quality control standards.
- Ability to lead teams effectively while fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration across departments including supply chain and production teams.
- Prior experience with process optimization tools and methodologies is highly desirable.
This role is integral to maintaining operational excellence within our fabrication shop while supporting our commitment to quality, safety, and continuous growth.
Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
