Overview
We are seeking a skilled Antenna Installer/Starlink Installer (contractor) to join our team. This role involves installing and configuring satellite communication systems, including Starlink and other telecommunication equipment, to ensure reliable internet connectivity for residential and commercial clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, mechanical aptitude, and experience working with low voltage systems. Duties
- Install, mount, and align satellite antennas, including Starlink systems, on various structures such as rooftops, poles, or walls
- Connect and configure networking equipment including Ethernet cables, Cisco routers, and switches
- Perform system testing to ensure optimal signal strength and network performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues related to telecommunication systems, low voltage wiring, or electrical components
- Conduct site assessments to determine the best placement for antennas and related equipment
- Maintain detailed documentation of installations, configurations, and service reports
- Adhere to safety protocols during all phases of installation and maintenance activities
- Collaborate with clients to explain system operation and provide basic troubleshooting guidance
Skills
- Proficiency with Ethernet cabling and computer networking principles
- Mechanical knowledge for mounting antennas securely on various surfaces
- Experience using hand tools such as drills, screwdrivers, wire strippers, and crimpers
- Knowledge of telecommunication systems including low voltage wiring, telephony, and electrical safety standards
- Familiarity with routers, switches, and basic network configuration
- Understanding of telecommunication infrastructure and electrical systems
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety standards
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on troubleshooting network or installation issues
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and reporting
This contractor position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, self-motivated, and eager to work on innovative satellite communication projects. Must have tools, vehicles and 24-28 ft ladder. Candidates should possess relevant technical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving in the field of telecommunications installation.
