POSITION: Finance Assistant
LOCATION: FPDI Sub Office – Winnipeg, Manitoba
CLOSING DATE: June 4, 2026 at 4:30 p.m.
The Finance Assistant is responsible for coordinating and administering the financial records, systems and processes of FPDI to contribute to the success of the organization by effectively managing financial accountabilities for FPDI.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements, general ledger, and reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Prepare quarterly financial reports to funders by reviewing and verifying monthly expense claims
- Develop and maintain multiyear financial analyses of FPDI sub agreement holders (SAH) and other projects
- Perform month-end and year-end procedures including, but not limited to preparing all month-end reconciliations and year-end working papers for the annual audit
- Assist with the development and maintenance of financial accounting systems for cash management: accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
- Assist with the management of financial records and cash flow for FPDI SAH and other projects
- Prepare cash flow forecasts in accordance with policy
- Monitor risk management procedures to ensure that project and organizational risks are minimized
- Processing payables and receivables for FPDI and FPDI projects
- Maintain confidentiality of FPDI financial business, information and records
EXPERIENCE
Education
- General Accounting or Bookkeeping Certificate
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- QuickBooks Accounting software, Word processing, Databases, Presentation software, Proficient Excel Spreadsheets, E-mail, Internet
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to accurately analyze, interpret, summarize, and present financial information
- Ability to work in a demanding self-supervisory, multi-task environment within clear timelines
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, cooperative working skills
