Access to quality child care resources and support is essential for healthy child development, strong families, and thriving communities. Families often rely on trusted guidance when navigating child care options, while educators and providers benefit from access to training, resources, and professional networks.
As a CCRR Consultant, you will serve as a connector, educator, and advocate, helping ensure families and child care professionals have access to the information and support they need to succeed.
Provide information, consultation, resources, and community support through the delivery of Child Care Resource & Referral services across the Central Okanagan.
- Provide child care information, consultations, and referrals to families seeking child care services.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and support to families, providers, and community organizations accessing CCRR services.
- Connect families with relevant community resources, programs, and support services.
- Plan and facilitate outreach initiatives for child care providers, educators, and families.
- Provide consultation, networking opportunities, training, and resource development for child care professionals.
- Conduct outreach visits and presentations with community agencies and partner organizations.
- Facilitate workshops, courses, and educational programming for parents, caregivers, providers, and early childhood educators.
- Recruit, register, and conduct home visits for License Not Required (LNR) Family Child Care providers.
- Support users in accessing and utilizing the Toy Lending Library.
- Deliver both in-person and virtual workshops and learning opportunities.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of BC Government CCRR Program Standards and ensure compliance.
- Ensure all provincial program standards, YMCA policies and procedures, and legal requirements are met.
- Promote culturally responsive and inclusive practices that recognize and respect diverse backgrounds, experiences, and family needs.
- Minimum three years of experience in child care, including direct experience working with children.
- Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certification is considered an asset.
- Additional education or training related to child growth and development is an asset.
- Experience developing community-based programming and collaborating with community agencies and service providers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong administrative, customer service, computer, and office management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions, solve problems, and prioritize effectively.
- Experience facilitating presentations, workshops, or educational programs.
- Ability to communicate effectively with families, caregivers, educators, providers, and the public on a variety of child care topics.
- Additional language proficiency is considered an asset.
- Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
