About This Opportunity
RPI Consulting Group is a specialized healthcare staffing agency, and we are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our retail pharmacy clients in Mississauga. This is a temporary contract assignment, not direct employment with our client. We are looking for a skilled Pharmacy Assistant to fill a short-term coverage need from August through early September.
If you're available for a focused, five-week commitment and enjoy hitting the ground running in a new environment, this could be the perfect fit. You'll step into a fast-paced retail pharmacy, support the existing team, and gain valuable experience—all while being supported by RPI as your employer of record throughout the contract.
What You'll Do During This Assignment
- Assist pharmacists with accurate prescription dispensing, including data entry, preparation, counting, and labeling.
- Process prescription orders efficiently using the Kroll pharmacy computer system.
- Receive and verify incoming shipments and help manage inventory, including stocking shelves and checking for expired products.
- Provide friendly, professional customer service by greeting patients, answering phone inquiries, and addressing prescription-related questions under pharmacist supervision.
- Handle point-of-sale transactions and process insurance claims (private and public plans).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area in line with pharmacy regulations.
- Keep up with a high-volume retail workflow while staying precise and detail-oriented.
What We're Looking For
- At least 1 year of recent experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail or community pharmacy setting.
- Strong proficiency with Kroll is essential (experience with a volume of approximately 300 Rx/day is preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-friendly attitude.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment.
- A quick learner who's reliable, punctual, and ready to contribute from day one.
