The position of Operations Manager, is responsible for Western Canada's full Operation and oversite all Western Terminals Operations Management for logistical efficiencies, financial budget, while ensure all work performed meets the company operating procedures for safe and on time performance.
Organizational Status:
This position will provide leadership to all Dispatch supervisors while supporting the safe and efficient coordination of all freight and logistics of all terminal. This role will support, collaborate and execute the strategic executive operational objectives and ensure weekly, monthy, quarterly and fiscal objectives meet the company targets.
Duties Performed:
- Lead a team of Dispatchers and Planners that run the day-to-day operations across Western Canada to exceed SLAs and KPIs, with a focus on Load Out Time and Deliveries per Hour.
- Oversee all verticals of the transportation operations including last mile delivery drivers and delivery assistants, fleet management and special projects. Need to add accessorial charge revenue , monthly operations report
- Work with other departments to support the Operations focus to continuously improve and adjust the operations based on the evolution of the business to enable scalability, improve accuracy, and reduce cost
- Build a strategic operations plan with prioritized projects/initiatives, budgets, timelines, support requests, and risk call-outs
- Review and work with Senior Executive Management to build scalable processes/SOPs that can be re-applied across all facilities as required
- Attend weekly customer meetings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Human Resources, Safety & Compliance etc.) on strategic initiatives to support the operations teams
- Handle and problem solve major operation escalations in a rapid change/growth environment.
- Responsible for daily planning and On time performance
