Dexter Construction, part of the Municipal group of Companies is a large, diversified Construction Company engaged in all major aspects of the heavy civil construction industry within the Atlantic Provinces. We are currently seeking the expertise of a CAD Technician based out of Bedford, NS.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform earthwork volumetric computations.
Develop plans and calculate material takeoffs in Civil 3D.
Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation.
Aggressively seek out opportunities to provide support as a value-added member of the team.
Ensure CAD standards and procedures are followed for all drawings and calculations.
Work closely and collaborate with Estimating Team
Any other duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience with AutoCad Civil 3D.
Experience in current civil construction methods.
Remotely Piloted Aircraft System experience would be considered an asset.
Ability to interpret Geotechnical Reports.
Suitable candidates require previous experience or training in a CAD Technician role, ideally from a survey/highways/mining/construction background.
Post-secondary education with a concentration in surveying/engineering is preferred.
Experience with MS Office Suite would be an asset.
Ability to work independently with little supervision, as well as in a team environment.
Must have a valid drivers’ license.
