Glass Installer
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Glass Installer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing various types of glass in residential, commercial, and restoration projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices, excellent craftsmanship, and the ability to interpret schematics and blueprints to ensure precise installation. The Glass Installer will work closely with project managers and other trades to deliver high-quality results efficiently and safely.
Duties
- Measure, cut, and install glass panels, windows, and storefronts according to project specifications and schematics.
- Use hand tools such as saws, drills, levels, and caulking guns to complete installations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate placement.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, framing, or repairing areas prior to glass installation.
- Seal joints with caulking or glazing compounds to ensure weatherproofing and insulation.
- Assist with restoration projects involving glass replacement or repair.
- Coordinate with other trades such as carpentry, plumbing, or flooring installation when necessary.
- Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction, carpentry, or related fields; prior experience specifically with glass installation is preferred.
- Proficiency with hand tools used in construction and glazing work.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Knowledge of caulking techniques and glazing processes.
- Familiarity with restoration work and construction painting is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various environments.
- Physical ability to lift heavy glass panels safely and perform tasks that require standing, bending, or climbing for extended periods.
- Valid <PERSON> (or equivalent) license preferred but not required.
