Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Climbing Arborist to join our team. This role involves working at heights to maintain and enhance tree health and landscape aesthetics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in arboriculture, tree climbing, and equipment operation, with a passion for preserving natural environments and ensuring safety standards are met. Duties
- Climb trees using industry-standard techniques to perform pruning, removal, and maintenance tasks
- Operate bucket trucks and other aerial lift equipment safely to access difficult-to-reach areas
- Use rigging techniques to safely lower large branches or tree sections during removal processes
- Conduct landscape maintenance activities including planting, trimming, and health assessments
- Apply horticultural practices to promote healthy tree growth and overall landscape vitality
- Utilize GIS technology for mapping, planning, and documenting work sites and tree inventories
- Perform equipment inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure operational safety and efficiency
- Follow safety protocols rigorously to prevent accidents and ensure team safety during all operations
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a climbing arborist or in a similar tree care role
- Knowledge of rigging techniques, bucket operation, and bucket truck handling
- Familiarity with GIS applications related to landscape management or arboriculture projects is preferred
- Strong understanding of horticulture principles and landscape maintenance practices
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as bucket trucks safely and effectively
- Excellent physical fitness with the ability to climb, lift, and work at heights for extended periods
- Relevant certifications such as ISA Certified Arborist or equivalent are highly desirable
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record preferred
- Commitment to safety standards, environmental responsibility, and continuous professional development
Pay: $32.00-$45.00 per hour
