Global Senior Care is seeking a Male Home Health Care Aide who speaks Punjabi to our client. The position involves overnight shifts on Fridays and Saturdays, from 9:30 PM to 4:00 AM, optional Wednesdays, at Kinlea Link NW, Calgary.
About Us: We are a local non-franchise home care company providing medical and non-medical home care to seniors in Alberta and B.C. We employ Health Care Aides and Licensed Practical Nurses. We are licensed, bonded and insured, and all staff are covered under WCB.
Duties may include:
- Provide overnight companionship with alert monitoring of client behaviour.
- Assistance with all activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Personal care
- Medication management
- Completing records accurately and carrying out all assignments as requested
Requirements:
- Ability to speak Punjabi fluently
- Live in Calgary, AB, Canada
- Hold a valid permit to work in Canada
- Knowledge in CHF care
- Knowledge in techniques for handling anxiety and distress
- Registered Health Care Aide or have a Nursing Degree in Canada or another country
- Current First Aid and CPR Training
Experience :
- Minimum One year of experience in this field (CNA Preferred)
- Experience with Knowledge in Congestive Heart Failure - CHF to monitor breathing issues and heart rate
- Experience in techniques for handling anxiety and distress
- Experience with patients with Dementia, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's
- Manual handling transferring patient
Language:
- Punjabi proficient
- Good English communication and comprehension
Skills and Abilities :
- Ability to communicate in Punjabi and English both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others compassionately and supportively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate medical equipment
