This position is a CUPE 859 position and will be filled in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Should it not be filled in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, external candidates will be considered.
Under supervision of the Roadways Supervisor this position performs a variety of concrete labouring duties.
- Pour, preparation and stripping of various types of sidewalks, driveways, wheelchair ramps and curbing.
- Assists concrete finishers with forming and finishing.
- Assists break-out crews with removal and preparations of various types of sidewalks.
- Assists in the installation and repairs of guardrail.
- Completes all work tracking and other associated forms accurately.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Grade 10 education.
- Six months related concrete labour experience.
- Possession of valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s licence.
- Current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid first aid certificate
- Knowledge of construction practices and standards pertaining to sidewalk replacement.
- Knowledge of city safety practices
- Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
- Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public and others.
- Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions.
Weekend work may be involved.
Weekly Hours: 40
Salary Range: $28.70 CAD per hour (2026 rates)
