Job Summary
As a Mechanic you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of all site equipment. This role requires a proactive approach to diagnostics, repairs, and compliance with safety standards, while collaborating closely with team members to prioritize tasks effectively. This position also involves rotational work across Canada and the United States of America.
This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to safety. You must be able to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining effective communication with the team and management to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities
Safety and Compliance
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct regular inspections and walkarounds of equipment to identify and address potential safety hazards
Personnel Management
- Collaborate with crew members to prioritize repair requests
- Assist and mentor other workers in repair tasks and equipment handling
Operations Management
- Execute repairs on-site as directed by the Field Supervisor
- Maintain a daily tally of repairs, including unit numbers and parts installed
Supply Management
- Keep an updated inventory of consumables and necessary tools for repairs
- Communicate with the Parts Manager for timely ordering of critical parts
Communication and Reporting
- Maintain clear communication with supervision regarding repair priorities and status updates
- Participate in cross-shift meetings to discuss ongoing repairs and equipment issues
Equipment and Resource Management
- Familiarize yourself with all equipment on site to recognize and mitigate issues proactively
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the shop and equipment areas
Continuous Improvement
- Document and analyze repair processes to identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement
- Engage in ongoing training and development to enhance technical skills
Qualifications
- Strong preference will be given to those who are eligible to work in Canada and the United States of America
- Proven experience as a mechanic is a requirement; strong preference will be given to those with prior experience in the drilling or oilfield industry
- Strong understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems
- Proficient in MIG and stick welding
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various outdoor conditions
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate equipment and trucks
Pay: $40.00-$63.00 per hour
