We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to join our growing Engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys designing industrial control systems, improving engineering standards, and contributing to projects that power critical infrastructure across Canada.
What Impact Will You Have?
As an Electrical Designer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical designs for industrial control panels and power generation systems. Your expertise will directly contribute to the successful execution of customer projects while supporting continuous improvement within our Engineering department.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams using EPLAN Electric P8
- Develop electrical designs for:
- Generator control panels
- Industrial control panels
- VFD panels
- Switchboards
- Create Bills of Materials (BOMs), cable schedules, and Operation & Maintenance manuals
- Select electrical components including breakers, relays, PLCs, VFDs, power supplies, and other control devices
- Review and improve existing electrical designs, templates, and engineering standards
- Support troubleshooting efforts and engineering design modifications as required
- Ensure all electrical designs comply with CSA standards and applicable electrical codes
- Work closely with Engineering, Production, Service, and Project Management teams to deliver accurate, production-ready drawings
Qualifications
- Strong experience using EPLAN Electric P8
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics, panel layouts, and industrial control system architecture
- Familiarity with CSA and UL panel standards
- Ability to read and interpret electrical specifications and one-line diagrams
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
