On behalf of our client, Career1 is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to join their growing Engineering team in Barrie, Ontario.
Transom is an innovative HVAC manufacturer specializing in the development of heat pump technology and low-carbon domestic hot water systems. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a collaborative engineering team where you'll contribute to the design and development of next-generation commercial HVAC equipment.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop new electrical designs for commercial HVAC equipment.
- Design and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control systems.
- Create electrical panel layouts and wiring harness designs.
- Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) for electrical assemblies.
- Program and test PLC controllers using simulation tools.
- Select and evaluate electrical components and instrumentation.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable electrical codes and standards.
- Troubleshoot electrical designs, prototypes, and production issues.
- Test and validate equipment to ensure proper operating sequences.
- Prepare technical documentation and engineering drawings.
- Work closely with production, sales, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Support continuous product improvement and new product development.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of electrical design experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience designing electrical control systems and schematics.
- Proficiency with electrical CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar).
- Experience creating wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and Bills of Materials.
- Knowledge of PLC programming and industrial control systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards (CSA, CEC, UL).
- Experience selecting electrical components and instrumentation.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork abilities.
Assets
- Experience in HVAC equipment design or industrial automation.
- Experience with heat pumps or refrigeration systems.
- Knowledge of control logic and electrical testing.

Pay: $55,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
Experience:
- HVAC: 1 year (preferred)
