The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
- Active registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN)
- A professional attitude and neat appearance
- Experience with senior care is an asset
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Sound judgment under pressure and in emergency situations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver care aligned with NSCN scope of practice and facility procedures
- Adapt quickly to new environments and facility-specific protocols
- Accurately document all resident care activities, including charting in PointClickCare
- Administer medications safely and according to care plans
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident, employee, and organizational information
- Build positive rapport with residents, families, coworkers, and management
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and incidents
- Supervise and support facility staff as needed during shift coverage
- Provide clear shift reports and updates
Schedule and Travel Requirements:
- Must be open to travel across multiple facilities in Nova Scotia
- Transportation and accommodation support may be provided when applicable
- Call on need basis – On call roles
- Shifts may include: 8-hour or 12-hour shifts, Days, nights, weekdays, and weekends
